Immunisations

Immunisation is the cheapest and best way of preventing some infections.  As per Merri Community Childcare Centre & Kindergarten Inc policy, all enrolled children must provide of immunisation status to the Coordinator.  Immunisation records can be updated at any time.  Immunisations will be also be updated annually as part of the reenrolment process.

Children who are not immunised are able to attend the Centre, however children not immunised, will be excluded for the prescribed period during any outbreak of a vaccine- preventable disease within the facility.

Before enrolment ALL children should be immunised against:

• Measles    
• Mumps
• Rubella     
• Poliomyelitis
• Diphtheria 
• Pertussis

The City of Darebin Immunisation sessions are available weekends, evenings and by appointment. Please refer to the 2010 Immunisation Timetable for dates and times of the next immunisation sessions.

Personal records of immunisations carried out in the Darebin municipality can be obtained within 5 business days. Records commenced from 1986.
